What does a normal day entail?
My day usually starts at 6am to either wake my dogs by the river or assisting hydrotherapy clients at Aquaria. Following that I have an a swim for 75 minutes in a squad training sessions. Then off to to have a coffee and chat with friends before taking a Pilates class. I usually do some admin work while having lunch before my PT clients come for the afternoon. If I have an evening class, I go home after that and have dinner with my family.
Other days, I could be found working at the Aquaria as a Health and Fitness consultant, training in the pool, or doing weights.
What do you love most about your job?
I like to make men and women feel empowered by showing them that they can exercise and do things to help them feel better. When learning a new exercise or stretch; people start to feel healthier and fitter, more flexible and in control
What do you love doing outside of work?
I enjoying spending precious time with my husband, Peter, and my adult children, Breanna and Daniel and of course my to large dogs -Meg and Barney. I love to swim and I hate to miss training. Competitions involve a lot of travel so that is another bonus and most of my family live overseas.
What were you going to be ‘when you grew up’?
I wanted to be an Air Hostess, but during my application process I discovered I was too short.
What is a totally different job that you would like to try?
Being a travel consultant, so I could take people on tours around a city.
What have you studied?
I studied a variety of areas within nursing over 30 years. I retired from registered nursing five years ago and went into the fitness industry. I have also completed many course within the fitness industry, including, Wellness Coaching.
