UNLOCKING LEARNING – The key to new beginnings
Maria is a very happy migrant enjoying a new life in Australia. Maria successfully completed Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care at Pines Learning which has unlocked new opportunities for learning, employment, friends and improved their self-confidence. Pines Learning celebrated Adult Leaners’ Week with free Come and Try classes and competitions and a display of student work and staff were available to discuss courses and opportunities.
This year marked the 20th anniversary of celebrating Adult Learners Week in Australia. ALW focuses on improving adult literacy and access to education.
Maria Chatzilada migrated from Greece 2 years ago and hasn’t looked back. After settling her family here, Maria decided she wanted to do something worthwhile and secure a job. She enrolled in a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, the minimum qualification required to work in the child care industry. This training gave her the skills and qualifications to achieve her dreams and secure employment.
Maria says “My experience at Pines Learning was even better than I expected. The curriculum was very interesting and our teachers were awesome! They taught us lots of useful information, examples in practice and most importantly they were always there for me.
I remember once, I had a break down ( because being alone in a foreign country with three children and without any help isn’t the most easy thing in the world….) and I was very stressed and tired, my teachers knew exactly what to say and do to comfort me and encourage me!”
Further to completing her study, Maria is now employed in a local childcare centre and feels happy and confident to be a productive member of the community.
Term 4 classes starts on Monday 5 October and you can visit our Centre, check our website or call to see what we can offer you to help you achieve your dreams.
