All Abilities – Essential Skills for Work

Course Details

This course is designed to help individuals with a high-functioning intellectual disability develop a variety of skills needed for both work and independent living. It focuses on building key employability skills that are essential for success in the workplace and daily life.

Each term of the course focuses on one or more of the eight core employability skills. These include communication (both literacy and numeracy), planning and organisation, technology, and initiative and enterprise. The aim is to equip learners with the practical skills necessary to thrive in various work environments.

Learners are provided with opportunities to engage in practical tasks that are relevant to different workplaces. These tasks are designed to be contextualised and carried out in a supportive and inclusive environment, allowing learners to build confidence and experience.

A short interview is required for anyone who has not previously enrolled in the course, to ensure that the course is a good fit for the learner’s needs and goals. In Term 1 2025 we will be looking at developing customer service and barista skills.

Cost (Funded Concession) ACFE Subsidy Fee of $5.00 plus $100 Amenities Fee = Total Cost per person $105.00
