What does a normal day entail?
My day starts around 7 in the morning with a cup of tea. Often, I try to get to the gym for a 45-minute spin class, then get a coffee on my way home. As I work evening shifts, I have a late lunch, rest, then get ready for work in a food service area in an aged care facility.
What do you love most about your job?
Being involved with food preparation and service. I enjoy working with elderly citizens and I get pleasure when they are happy with what I prepare them for their meals.
What do you love doing outside of work?
I love catching up with friends over coffee or lunch. I also like to re-pot my succulents.
What were you going to be when you grew up?
My dream was to one day be a teacher.
What is a totally different job that you would like to try?
I would like to work as a food consultant and take people to Thailand for cooking classes and to discover local cuisine and fresh ingredients – as well as a holiday.
